Former Tannourine Club (Lebanon) setter Simo Dabovic has transferred clubs to Sazman Omran in Iran for 2017. Montenegro’s national team setter has played professionally for seven years now all across Europe and for two years on the Montenegrin national team.
Vijesti online announced Dabovic’s transfer to Iran’s top club Sazman Omran with national teammate and childhood friend Milos Culafic. Dabovic stated that he is ready to play in one of the strongest leagues in the game that has a lot of great players and foreigners.
“The Iranian league is followed, high quality, definitely a challenge for me,” stated Dabovic. “It is in face, the best league for me. To be honest, I’ve never played in such a tough league.”
Dabovic’s professional career started back in his hometown of Bar, Montenegro and has played at various clubs in Slovenia, Greece, and Lebanon. Iran’s Championship league has taken 11 foreign players to join their various 7 clubs to complete the 2017 season with.
Sazman Omran is currently ranked #6 out of 14 in the Iran National Championship 2016/2017 table with 8 wins and 9 losses with a total of 23 points for the regular season. Sarmayeh Bank is currently ranked #1 with 15 wins and 2 losses with a total of 41 points.
