Longtime Serbian Coach Zoran Terzic is Teacher, Friend & Leader

Serbian Women’s National Team head coach Zoran Terzic sat down with the FIVB at the World Grand Prix and talked about the importance of coaches and the different roles they play for their team.

Terzic said he believes his three most important roles are as teacher, friend and leader. He has taught them volleyball and grown them into  one of the best programs in the world. He says due to the time commitment, his players need to see him as a friend to talk volleyball and life. He also need needs to be a leader to guide them through difficult situations on and off the court.

Terzic has been a national team coach since 2002, first with FR Yugoslavia and later Serbia and Montenegro and now the Serbian team. His squads have earned bronze at the 2006 World Championships, gold at the 2011 European Championships and the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Thus far at the World Grand Prix, the Serbian Women have won are 5-1 and sit atop the rankings  with 15 points.
